No, Taylor Swift Did Not Endorse Donald Trump, Here's the AI Detection Proof
AI detection proof Taylor Swift Did Not Endorse Donald Trump
The post heard round the world:
At AI or Not, our detection models immediately identified this image as AI with 99% confidence.
We're in a new phase of election misinformation. The most powerful algorithms are being used to impersonate the most popular artists and individuals for the purposes of further power for already powerful individuals. Just like tech intended.. right?!
This incident has sparked a wider debate about the role of AI (or "AI'd") in political discourse and the potential for misinformation in democratic processes. While some accounts labeled these images as satire, their spread on social media platforms has led to confusion among some members of the public, with some taking the implied endorsement at face value. Though obviously AI generated to some, others may have taken this flyer as real.
Will legal action be taken? Will governments vote new policies and procedures to try to prevent this?
How did we get here?
Last week, Grok, by X (formerly known as Twitter), released their image generation model. The model did not have safeguards in place to prevent users from creating realistic images of known individuals. Coupled with 368m user base, false information can spread quickly.
Case in point, here is an AI generated image of Taylor Swift endorsing Kamala Harris with an AI detection report to avoid any confusion:
Can these images swing an election? Without AI detection, will just enough voters believe these as truth?
